Environmental protection

Our products and services support our customers‘ efforts to make their business processes more efficient and more environmentally friendly. We also take care to reduce the environmental impact from our own activities and to use energy, resources and materials as efficiently as possible. To ensure that this is the case, we have established a global management system for environmental protection based on standards and guidelines which apply worldwide. We conduct audits to verify that the Group is complying with the standards laid down. In 2016, four of our locations in Asia and Africa were certified externally for the first time in accordance with the updated environmental standard ISO 14001 which had been revised in 2015. Our internal audits are also based on ISO 14001.

A global process helps us to record and evaluate incidents and near misses which have particular relevance for environmental protection. We have set ourselves global targets in those areas in which environmental protection is most relevant.
