Vocational training support
Gases put to practical use
Good vocational training requires experienced instructors and the right equipment at the workplace, though neither one is necessarily a given in every corner of the world. As a welding technology specialist, we know what well-trained specialists in this field need to know.
We support schools and training centres for welding technology in a number of countries, especially in regions with low levels of average income, by providing the necessary equipment and expertise. In doing so, we contribute to improving local living conditions and enhancing equal opportunities.
In South Africa, for example, we set up training areas at five schools and donated the necessary equipment. Some 2,700 students have already benefited from this. In addition, we provided further training for instructors in the latest process technology. Employees from our subsidiary Afrox support the schools by lending their expertise as part of regular visits. We also provided the equipment needed to open a welding technology school in South Africa. The school is focused on making training available to unemployed young people. Linde has founded a school for welding technology in Ecuador as well. As part of a German-Pakistani training initiative, we also support vocational training for young men and women in Pakistan to become welders to increase their prospects on the labour market.
